Steam trap installation method and requirements:

1. Before installing the trap, be sure to purge the pipeline with pressurized steam to remove debris from the pipeline.

2. A filter should be installed in front of the trap to ensure that the trap is not blocked by the pipeline and clean the filter regularly.

3. Install the valve before and after the trap to facilitate the repair of the trap at any time.

4. The condensate flow direction should be consistent with the trap installation arrow mark.

5, the trap should be installed at the lowest point of the equipment outlet, timely discharge condensate, to avoid steam resistance of the pipeline

6. If the trap is not installed at the lowest position of the equipment, add a backwater bend (condensation water lifting joint) at the lowest position of the water outlet to raise the condensed water level and then install the steam trap to avoid steam resistance.

7. The outlet pipe of the trap should not be immersed in water. (If immersed in water, drill a hole in the bend to break the vacuum and prevent the sand from sucking back.)

8. Mechanical traps should be installed horizontally.

9. Steam traps should not be installed in series.

10. Each device should be fitted with a trap.

11. Before the thermostatic trap, more than one meter of non-insulated subcooling pipe is required. Other forms of trap should be as close as possible to the equipment.

12. When the drum type drying (with siphon type) equipment uses the steam trap, please specify: use the steam trap with anti-steam resistance device to avoid the steam lock of the equipment.

13. If there is condensate recovery after the trap, the trap outlet pipe should be connected to the manifold from the top of the recovery manifold to reduce back pressure and prevent backflow.

14. If there is condensed water recovery after the trap, the pipelines with different pressure levels should be recycled separately.

15. After the trap, the condensate recovery manifold cannot climb the slope, which will increase the back pressure of the trap.

16. Install a check valve before the condensate from the trap enters the recovery manifold to prevent condensate from flowing back.

17. Install a trap on the steam line. The main pipe should be provided with a condensate collecting well close to the radius of the main pipe, and then piped to the trap.

Precautions for the use of traps:

1. The trap is a valve that is easily blocked by dirt in the water. When enabled, first open the flush valve and flush the tubing.

2. If there is a bypass pipe, the bypass valve can be opened for short flushing. There is no flushing pipe and bypassing trap, the trap can be removed, the shut-off valve is opened, the shut-off valve is closed, the trap is installed, and then the shut-off valve is opened to activate the trap.

3, parallel trap, if the discharge of condensate does not affect the normal work, you can take a round of flushing. The method of operation is to turn off the shut-off valve before and after the trap, and then open the shut-off valve before and after the other trap. It is also possible to open the inspection valve and check the operation of the water-repellent valve. If the steam is flushed out more, it indicates that the work is not normal. If only the drainage is performed, it indicates that the work is normal. Then open the check valve of the trap that has just been closed, and discharge the stored condensate. If the condensate continues to flow out, it indicates that the valve leaks before and after the inspection tube, and it is necessary to find out which valve is leaking.
