On September 13, BigRoll announced that it has ordered two MC-class super large module carriers in Dalian COSCO Shipyard. The new ships will be delivered in May 2015 and August 2015. The contract also includes 2 alternative orders.
The design focus of the MC-class module transport vessel lies in transportation stability, short loading and unloading time, high service efficiency and low acceleration. It has the Swedish 1A ice class symbol and DP2 dynamic positioning system.
The series is 173 meters long and 42 meters wide. The deck area is 5250 square meters. The depth is 12 meters and the maximum load is 21,000 tons. It is suitable for services such as the Arctic.
