Last week, SAIC-GM-Wuling announced that the company plans to have Wuling Rongguang N300 assembled and put into operation in Egypt in the third quarter of 2012 in order to seek opportunities to cover the markets of North Africa and the Greater Arab Free Trade Zone, and gradually increase the export share of SAIC-GM-Wuling.
It is reported that the Wuling Rongguang N300 is a microbus model developed by SAIC-GM-Wuling. Wuling Rongguang not only achieved a longer body but also achieved new standards in width and height compared with Wuling's previous products. The length, width and height are respectively 4150cm. , 1620cm, 1915cm, with a 2700mm long wheelbase, cargo length of 3000mm, about 10cm wider than the traditional extended van, can take up to 8 people, to meet the more cargo demand of cargo owners.
Currently, the planned output of Wuling Rongguang N300 is 5000 vehicles per year. SAIC-GM-Wuling general manager Shenyang said that the new body exterior of the car will be manufactured for Egypt based on the N300 platform, and the entire vehicle parts will be supplied by SAIC-GM-Wuling. Wuling Rongguang will become the first Chinese model assembled by GM in Egypt, and will also be the first vehicle assembled by SAIC-GM-Wuling in overseas.
