Daewoo Shipbuilding awarded Wärtsilä inert gas program contract
It is reported that a few days ago, Daewoo Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. recently awarded Wärtsilä a contract to supply inert gas generators and gas burners to 17 LNG carriers under construction. The contract is expected to be delivered to Daewoo Shipbuilding in the third quarter of 2016.
According to the news, Wärtsilä signed the above supply contract in June and September 2015. The operators of these new ships are from Singapore, Greece, South Korea, Cyprus and Canada.
According to reports, the combined inert gas generator and gas burner are jointly developed by Wärtsilä and Daewoo Shipbuilding. The maximum gas production capacity is 3800 kg / h, which is enough to meet the needs of the largest LNG carrier in the shipping industry.
It is understood that the ship uses the existing Wärtsilä Moss inert gas generator to burn the evaporated LNG gas, which reduces the traditional gas burning device and greatly saves expenses and operating costs.
