ABB receives an order for the supply system package for an advanced port icebreaker
Recently, the Swiss power and automation technology group ABB received a contract to provide power, propulsion and automation systems for an advanced port icebreaker being built at the Russian Vyborg shipyard. The new ship will be used to support the Yamal LNG project in Siberia, Russia.
Under the contract, ABB will supply the ice pack with a system package including a marine DC grid, four Azipod thrusters and a 2800-M two-stage turbocharger.
