The GCU produced by Saacke in Germany is designed to be 12 meters high and has a processing capacity of 5.2 tons of gas per hour. It is expected to be delivered in 2014 and the first ship is expected to be completed by the end of 2015. This is the second series of ships built by Hudong Zhonghua using the Saacke system.

Recently, China Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding has signed a contract with German Saacke to produce and deliver gas combustion units (GCU) for six LNG carriers. It is reported that the ships were built for China National Marine LNG Investment Co., Ltd., Sinopec and MOL. The GCU is able to handle the excess evaporation gas to the greatest extent possible, thus ensuring the safety of LNG marine transportation.
